Save That Munch

Terms & Conditions

Last updated: 30 July 2026

About these terms

These terms apply when you use the Save That Munch app or website to reserve and collect surplus food. Save That Munch is operated by [STM LEGAL ENTITY](“we”, “us”). By creating an account or placing an order, you agree to these terms. Please also read our Privacy Policy, which explains how we handle your data.

How the marketplace works

Save That Munch is a platform that connects you with local vendors offering surplus food at a discount. The vendor is the seller of the food and is responsible for preparing it and for its quality, safety and hygiene. We operate the platform and process your payment. When you pay, your card payment is handled securely by Stripe and we act as the merchant of record for that payment.

Reserving and paying for a bag

A Rizq Bag is a surprise bag of surplus food. When you reserve one, you pay for it up front by card. Stock is limited and offered on a first-come, first-served basis: where only one bag is left and two people are checking out at once, the first person to complete payment gets it, and the other is stopped, in most cases before any charge is taken. If a charge is taken but the bag is no longer available, we refund it to your original payment method.

Collecting your order

Reserve a Rizq Bag in the app and pay securely by card. When you arrive at the vendor during your pickup window, show the pickup code on your order screen and collect your bag. You'll find your active orders and codes under the Orders tab. Please collect within the pickup window; bags not collected in time may be treated as a no-show and are not refundable.

Refunds and cancellations

Because you're reserving surplus food that's set aside for you, orders can't be cancelled if you simply change your mind (surplus food is perishable and exempt from the standard 14-day cancellation right). But if a vendor is closed, runs out, or something else goes wrong, contact us at hello@savethatmunch.co.uk and we'll sort out a refund to your original payment method.

Nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights. Under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, if the food you receive is unsafe, not as described, or not of satisfactory quality, you are entitled to an appropriate remedy, including a refund.

Food safety and allergens

The vendor is responsible for the safety, hygiene and accuracy of the food they provide, including allergen information, in line with UK food law. Because a Rizq Bag is a surprise selection of surplus food, its exact contents are not known in advance and it may contain allergens. If you have any allergy or dietary requirement, please check with the vendor when you collect before you consume anything. If you have a serious allergy, take extra care.

Vendors may only offer surplus food that is safe to eat and of satisfactory quality: it must be within its use-by date and free from mould, spoilage or contamination, and fit for human consumption. Surplus means good food that would otherwise go to waste, never food that is no longer safe to eat.

Your account and acceptable use

Keep your account details accurate and your login secure. Please honour the reservations you make, collect within your pickup window, and don't misuse the service, attempt to disrupt it, or use it unlawfully. We may suspend or close accounts that break these terms.

Our responsibility to you

We provide the platform with reasonable care and skill, but we don't make the food and don't control the vendor's premises or preparation. Responsibility for the food itself sits with the vendor as its seller.

We do not exclude or limit our liability where it would be unlawful to do so. This includes liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for any other liability that cannot be excluded under law. Subject to that, we are not liable for losses that were not reasonably foreseeable, and our total liability to you for any order is limited to the amount you paid for that order.

Changes to these terms

Save That Munch is growing, so we may refine these terms from time to time. We'll update the “Last updated” date above, and by continuing to use the service you accept the current terms.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and disputes are subject to the courts of England and Wales.
